The computers, which have been supplied for public use, are intended to be used by all library patrons, at no cost.  The following rules have been established in order to prevent damage to the computers, insure fairness among patrons, and provide the most service to all patrons.  Failure to comply with these rules shall result in loss of computer privileges.

  • You must sign in to use the computers, using your library card.

  • All internet users under the age of 18 must have a signed permission slip or a parent/guardian shall oversee the Internet usage.

  • Computer usage for verified assignments always takes precedence.

  • There will be a two hour per day limit on computer usage, per patron.  This will be done in 1/2 hour increments.  A longer period may be granted, if the patron is doing an assignment - all will be at the discretion of the staff.

  • You may reserve a computer for 1/2 hour at a time, if you are working on an assignment.

  • No demo disks are permitted.  We have disks for sale for one dollar, that you may purchase.

  • Do not change screen settings or tiling of icons, log off or shut down computers.  No downloading of any kind to computers.

  • Without prior approval of a staff member no one may access electronic mail, and other forms of direct electronic communications.  No chat rooms.

  • Since this is a public place with  children present, anyone found on an inappropriate site will be asked to shut it down, computer usage shall be suspended.

  • Minors are strictly forbidden to disclose, use, and/or give out personal information.

Please ask for help, if you are unsure about any of the computer operations.

If you do not understand any of the rules the staff will be glad to help you.
